Other Events and Activities
May
May 3 - Americares Project at 27 Arnold Lane, 9:00-3:00. Whether you have
skills or just good intentions, everyone is invited to come out on this national
day
of volunteerism to help with outside painting, clean-up, and various gardening
chores to benefit an aging neighbor. We are joining with our friends at the
United
Church
on this project. Depending on how this progresses, we may also help clean
up the historic Raymond Cemetary. To sign up, contact Sharon Carrigan at 554-2496

May 10 - Class for prospective new members and for those who would like
to brush up on "What it Means to be a Methodist." 10:00-1:00, location
TBD.
May 18 - Life & Ministry Committee Meeting 11:30.
May 24 - Good Folk Coffee House.

Open at 7:30 p.m. $20/adult ($10 ages 7-12) incldues hot supper, delicious desserts and wonderful
entertainment!
May 23 - Five Mile River Nursery School graduation ceremony at 11:45, followed by
an all-school picnic at Bailey Beach.
May 25 - Join us in Pinkney Park after the Memorial Day Parade to sell (or buy) Strawberry Shortcake and sandwiches!
Sign-up sheet for set-up, preparations, and clean-up is in Fellowship Hall. You can also volunteer to help at
our "Alex's Lemonade Stand" fundraiser to help find a cure for pediatric cancers (see Missions board in the
Fellowship Hall for more information.)
May 31 - We will be serving lunch at the Soup Kitchen. Sign-up with Bill Hayden.
June
June 1 - 10:00 - Healing service with special guests. 11:30-1:00 - Healing workshop. Everyone is
encouraged to attend to learn about this special ministry. See Pastor Carol for details.
June 2 - Final Confirmation Class meeting, 5:00-6:30
June 3 - Missions Committee Meeting 7:00 p.m.
June 8 - Confirmation of RUMC youth during Worship service, with reception following.
June 11 - June 14 - New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church
at Hofstra University. Pastor Caroll and Bill Hayden will be attending.
June 23 - Vacation Bible School - our youth will participate at St. Lukes
Episcopal Church in Darien. See Pastor Carol for details.
